A new Eurovision review!

Today, Sebria! They stuck with the Beovizija format this year, and I'd be lying if I said I took an interest in that selection this year. Nevertheless, the song they ended up selectic is 'Kruna' of Nevena Bozovic, of Moje 3 fame.

Here are my thoughts:

What I Like: It's nice that Nevena has another chance to have Eurovision success. I loved Moje 3 and their entry back in 2013, but this feels like a more classier affair. The staging in Beovizija probably didn't do it just either, similar to Nova Deca in 2018 which managed to flourish a bit more on the Eurovision stage. Nevena's vocal never falters throughout either which is highly commendable.

What I Don't Like: What I don't like that song is that I have little to say I do like in my review, simply because apart from Nevena's vocal, it feels a bit of a non-event. I can't say I'd remember this song if I had to remember all 41 songs from this year, and it feels like Serbia's weakest entry in a while. I also feel like its another power ballad in a year of power ballads, which might make me more critical of ballads as a whole this year, and I honestly feel that there are other ballads giving me a more modern approach over this, which is what I often go for.

Predictions: A lot of people seem to be banking on Serbia to be dark horses and bank on a similar success to last year. However, Serbia felt like they had a more unique product then, not to mention they were also in a way weaker semi-final and only scraped through. I think there's a slight chance, but ultimately I can see this falling on the wrong side of the border in SF1.

Final Score: 4.5/10

Summary: A pretty power ballad with a fantastic vocalist which is maybe stuck in another era. They will need way, way better staging in May to save this.
